Nylacast raise £500 for Prostaid

Nylacast Automotive Quality Engineer Joshua Brownhill recently braved a leg waxing in effort of fundraising for a very worthy cause.

The small fundraising event helped to raise £500 for prostate cancer charity Prostaid and will be used to help support the charity in their dedicated drive to support and treat prostate cancer patients.

Nylacast place importance on the health and well being of employees and with a large number of the workforce consisting of males, the fundraiser was also a good opportunity and platform to promote the work of Prostaid as well as raising awareness of prostate cancer and the symptoms which can be spotted early to help reduce or prevent its effects.

Prostaid is a non-government funded charity covering Leicestershire, Northampton and Rutland in which they provide information and counselling for patients and families, fund a number of unique Prostate Cancer specialist nurses, fund new cutting edge treatments not available on the NHS and raise awareness of the cancer and educate local men and local GP’s.

Joshua’s fundraiser is not the only hair loss challenge to have taken place at Nylacast. In 2011, 4 members of the team took part in a sponsored head shave. Every March numerous employees also take part in the charity’s ‘March Hairs’ campaign, sporting facial hair and signature moustaches for the month.
