Off-Line Programmer

Job Title: Off-Line Programmer

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: The role will be based at our offices in Leicester

This is a position for a time served Engineer with at least 5 years working in a CNC Engineering Environment, who has the ability to program online on either Turning and/or Milling Machines

Main duties include:

  • Write Programs in either Edgecam or Ez-Cam
  • Prove out programs
  • Create setting sheets for shop-floor staff.
  • Generate / access back-up files and programs
  • Review programs in order to gain optimum cycle times
  • On-line programming as and when required
  • Provide Technical support to Production and Sales team
  • Liaise with customers to resolve queries.
  • Ensure Health, Safety & Environmental requirements / best practice are constantly met
  • Develop and maintain effective communication links with fellow colleagues to ensure the above.
  • Undertake additional training and other relevant duties as required.

Skills / Experiences:

  • Must be familiar with Fanuc (Heidenhain an advantage)
  • Experience of using Edgecam or EZ-Cam.
  • Experience of using Solidworks an advantage
  • Good organisational skills, demonstrated through the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Ability to challenge and question existing processes based on knowledge and experience

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 hours, with a daily 1 hour lunch break.

Brief overview of job role:

As a CNC Programmer you will be a pivotal member of the Manufacturing Team, utilizing your knowledge of 4 & 5 axis CNC Machining skills to optimize programs and machine efficiency

Main duties include:

  • Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency
  • Undertake any off-set changes to the programme to ensure the components are produced to the customer drawings/requirements.
  • Complete first off inspection
  • Working from technical drawings
  • Support, develop and mentor other colleagues & departments on technical machining issues

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to program and set CNC Turning and Milling Machines
  • Fanuc & Heidenhain Controls
  • Applicants will need to be proactive, able to work on their own initiative and assist other semi-skilled members of the team to reach their maximum potential

Automotive Applications Engineering Manager

Reports to: Sales and Business Dev Manager

Brief overview of job role:

As the Application Engineering Manager you will be accountable for leading the Engineering Team to develop a detailed understanding of all existing customer requirements and have full responsibility of Nylacast’s Graduate Application’s Engineers.

Main duties include:

  • Lead APQP process in Nylacast for new product development from enquiry through to PPAP delivery to customers.
  • Manage Engineering team resource with job allocation, progress reporting and presentation of status to Senior Leadership Team
  • Develop technical relationships with existing and Nylacast Customers
  • Support customer visits to Nylacast and travel to customer sites as required
  • Create and develop internal innovation process for evaluation and business case creation of new products and materials
  • Support operations requirements for Engineering and Technical assistance on product and process development
  • Work closely with R&D to guide new product and process development towards profitable customer solution development.
  • Mentor, Coach, Train and Development of Graduate Applications Engineers
  • Develop and maintain effective communication links with fellow colleagues to ensure the above.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Automotive background is essential
  • Time served Automotive Engineer
  • Engineering Management Experience
  • Gear Design/Gear Application preferable
  • Good understanding of APQP training/awareness
  • Ideally with CAD Drawing package experience
  • Excellent Communication skills

Maintenance Engineer

Location: The role will be based across all our Automotive sites Leicester

Brief overview of job role:

The Maintenance Engineer roll will aid the overall effectiveness & efficiency of the division by reducing downtime on machines whilst continuously striving to improve processes to plant & machinery and furthermore to provide a support service to the production and to the Division in relation to maintenance issues to ensure machinery has maximum uptime possible.

Main duties include:

  • Responsible for Reactive / Breakdown Maintenance
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • Comply with Nylacast Ltd H&S policy and all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements and · ensure that all H&S procedures, engineering best practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure accurate & timely records are entered / recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares / consumables used.
  • Ensure engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods / procedures to reduce these.
  • Provide engineering support to production to ensure efficient performance of all equipment.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Must be a time served engineer
  • Recognised engineering qualifications (essential)
  • Previous maintenance experience – manufacturing environment preferable (essential)
  • Competent electrical / electronic fault finding and analysis skills (essential)
  • Self-managing – Must be able to work under own supervision or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills

Main duties include:

  • Planning, developing and implementation of all processes for manufacturing including programming in Fanuc, Siemens & Mitsubishi
  • Plan and Program existing and new jobs within the Manufacturing Processes to optimise efficiency
  • Identify training needs within the manufacturing process
  • Support in training individuals within Engineering / Programming
  • Build Process Strategy for Manufacturing then assist in implementation
  • Feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements
  • Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling, jigs & fixtures for manufacturing
  • Continuous Improvement of Process, Tooling
  • Liaise with suppliers on new developments & applications
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Programs throughout the whole of the Manufacturing Process
  • Updating set-up and changeover instructions
  • Carry out time studies on processes and equipment
  • Update operator instructions where appropriate
  • Support the Engineering Team in new designs
  • Layout of new equipment to best optimise space and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain effective communication links with fellow colleagues to ensure the above.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Time served apprentice with CNC Programming Background
  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Good understanding of Quality and preferably TS.
  • Ideally educated to degree level in an Engineering Discipline
  • Previous experience of working within a Manufacturing / Automotive Environment
  • Ideally with experience of 3D modelling packages
