As part of Nylacast’s regular company-wide health, safety and well being initiatives, Cancer awareness month took place in March 2019.
During March a number of activities took place including fundraising for local charities and a number of Cancer awareness seminars.
Nylacast partnered with PROSTaid, a Leicestershire based charity dedicated to combating prostate cancer.
PROSTaid representatives spent the day at Nylacast World Headquarters and held a number of Cancer awareness seminars. Over 80 Nylacast team members took part in the seminars which provided information, details and practical knowledge on symptoms and treatments as well as highlighting the many activities they undertake in order to support patients and work towards reducing prostate cancer.
PROSTaid began in 2006, covering Leicestershire, Rutland and Northamptonshire. Their aim has been to improve cancer treatments and continue saving lives.
47,000 men, aged between 40 and 60 are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, which is 129 men every day.
