Nylacast Celebrates Apprentices

Building Skills for the Future: Celebrating Our Apprentice Graduates

At Nylacast, we are proud to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our apprentices as they complete the final stages of their apprenticeship journey and begin the next chapter of their careers at Nylacast.

This year, we were delighted to congratulate Alfie, Lewis, Kian, George, Josiah and Ameen on successfully completing their apprenticeships. Their commitment, hard work and determination throughout their programmes have enabled them to develop valuable skills, gain hands-on industry experience and build strong foundations for their future careers within engineering and manufacturing.

Alongside the support of their mentors, managers and colleagues, each apprentice has overcome challenges, expanded their knowledge and grown in confidence throughout their time with us.

Throughout their apprenticeships, our apprentices have developed a deeper understanding of our industry, our products and the important role engineering plays in supporting customers across a wide range of sectors.

When reflecting on his experience, George highlighted one of the aspects that impressed him most during his apprenticeship:

"What surprised me the most about engineered polymers is the variation in what they can do. The number of industries we supply and the intricacy of the products is amazing."

This highlights the unique opportunity apprentices have to gain exposure to innovative materials, advanced manufacturing processes and a diverse range of customer applications.

For Lewis, the people around him played a major role in making his apprenticeship a positive experience:

What was your favourite part about your apprenticeship journey?

"The people and the support you get through it. There wasn't a question you couldn't ask."

At Nylacast, we believe that creating a supportive learning environment is essential to helping apprentices thrive, and feedback such as this demonstrates the positive culture our teams help to create every day.

Apprentice of the Year

One of the standout achievements this year was seeing Kian receive the Apprentice of the Year Award, recognising his dedication, development and overall contribution throughout his apprenticeship.

Having successfully completed his programme, Kian is already focused on continuing his development and expanding his skills across the business.

What's next for you now that you've finished your apprenticeship?

"I want to get trained on as many machines as I can to gain more knowledge, especially the turning machines."

His ambition to continue learning reflects the attitude that makes apprenticeships such a valuable route into engineering and manufacturing careers.

We are incredibly proud of everything our apprentices and teams have achieved and look forward to continuing to support their development and success.
