Flying Fish visit Nylacast

Nylacast recently opened its doors and hosted a facility tour for a group of Flying Fish, part of an outreach project ran by Leicester based charity organisation Leicestershire Cares.

The Flying Fish project from Leicestershire Cares supports young people from challenged backgrounds on to the next steps in life by opening their eyes to the possibilities in the world of work, through company tours, talks and mentored work placements. All programmes are tailored to meet individual needs.

Having conducted Flying Fish tours for a number of years, Nylacast welcome younger members of the local community on a facility tour to highlight some of the many job roles and opportunities available in industry.

The project also consists of placement work for interested students who may show passion for working within the engineering sector through many of the disciplines offered across the company ranging from production and engineering through to accounts and sales.

Nylacast’s participation in the Flying Fish project is one of many drives to give back to local communities, provide opportunities and help to bridge the skills gap deficit within the engineering industry as a whole.
