Nylacast on the showcase podium

With London 2012 in full flow and Team GB swiftly rising up the medals table, Great Britain is certainly under the spotlight. Highlighting Great Britain’s ability to be successful in a number of industries, as well as sports, Nylacast joined a handful of organisations selected to showcase the best of British business at the Global Business Summit on Energy, held in conjunction with the Olympics on Tuesday the 7th of August.

Along with a small selection of the many businesses operating in the global energy market, Leicester based Nylacast represented UK engineering by showcasing their renowned engineering polymer solutions for the Energy sector at the prestigious , historical venue; Lancaster House. This was the location whereby the British Business Embassy played host to a wide spectrum of global business leaders and operators integrating together to witness and discuss British innovation and technology within the global Energy sector. The UK oil and gas supply chain exports around US$9 billion worth of goods and services each year in value, representing nearly one-quarter of the UK’s total energy sector exports.

The Global Energy Summit included a number of speeches and insights from various industry experts and companies, including a keynote speech by the current Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade, Dr Vince Cable, who reinforced that “UK companies have unique abilities in design, operation and management of complex projects” as well as “strong capabilities in operating in difficult, challenging environments.”

Nylacast, whose unique materials technology lends itself greatly to a number of arduous environments, particularly those faced within the energy sector, have over fourty five years of experience in manufacturing advanced materials and complex, bespoke components. Working closely with a wide range of global customers and partners including operators as well as service providers within the industry, Nylacast strive on building business relationships focused on the strong grounds of Quality, Service and Innovation, This is demonstrated on a daily basis by Nylacasts ability to provide a full engineering polymer solution, with full traceability from raw chemistry through to end components in any quantity. Furthermore, Nylacast operate to a number of high quality industry standards including ISO 29001:2011 Oil & Gas.

Nylacast, following the event hope to participate in many overseas projects leading to great business opportunities for our UK based manufacturing facility.”

In addition to the keynote speeches and discussions which took place at the Global Business Summit on Energy, BP and the University of Manchester also took the opportunity to announce the launch of their $100 million BP-ICAM project, which is the future development of an international research centre based in the UK. During the London 2012 Olympics, The British Business Embassy at Lancaster House will attract over 3,000 UK and international business leaders from across the world. The programme began with a Global Investment Conference followed by the series of sector and country days including the two Energy days, which are jointly expected to generate £1bn of additional sales for Britain.
