What is a Sheave?

A sheave is a wheel or pulley with a grooved rim that is used to guide or change the direction of a rope, cable, or belt. It’s commonly found in lifting equipment, cranes, hoists, and various types of rigging systems. The groove helps keep the rope or cable aligned and in place during operation.
