    Apprenticeship’s within Engineering (Ref No: APPMAR2018)

    Brief overview of job role:
    Over the last 8 years Nylacast have continued to build on the success of our apprenticeship scheme and as
    such we are offering the opportunity for 6 new apprentices to join us during 2018, so we are looking for
    people that are interested in Engineering within CNC Milling and CNC Turning.
    This is an excellent opportunity, working on a variety of projects whilst learning about CNC machining as
    well as gaining a full qualification and having a guaranteed full-time job as a CNC Machinist after 4 years.

    Main duties include within the First Year:
    • 6 week placements in all the Departments within Nylacast, which will give potential apprentices a good
    understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental issues that arise to working right the way through to
    Quality, Inspection and Warehouse
    • Block Release to college to study for Level 2 & Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeships
    • Work as a Team on a project set by the Technical Trainer
    Qualifications/Experiences:
    • An interest in Engineering
    • GCSE Maths & English Grade C or above (or equivalent)
    • Attention to detail and accuracy

    Hours of Work:
    Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 16:30 with a daily 30-minute lunch break for the first year.

    Open Evening:

    Short Term Quality Engineer/Inspector

    Short Term Quality Engineer/Inspector (3 Month Contract)       (Ref No: QEIFeb2018)

    Job Description
    The Quality Engineer/Inspector will be a key member of the Components Division, providing essential quality assurance
    support and timely reports to our customers whilst working closely with the internal team to ensure that corrective
    actions are implemented effectively.

    Duties of the Quality Engineer/Inspector include:
    • Support in the implementation of the new 9001:2015 accreditation
    • To assist with the Production Part Approvals, ensuring that associated documentation is correctly completed and to
    provide product and process validation documentation packages as required, using company established methodologies
    and to administer and manage all associated Quality documentation databases and electronic / hard copy
    documentation records.
    • To support, cover, assist and oversee as required with the work of the Quality Engineering control and inspection.
    • To liaise with internal and visit external customers and suppliers to resolve of ongoing issues in a timely manner and to
    progress customer and supplier audit requirements.
    • To best maintain continuity of the duties of the Quality Manager / Snr Quality Engineer, in their absence.
    • Conduct Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) issues and surveys as required.
    • Assist and Develop with update of advanced QS9000 core tools (where used and deemed appropriate) such as MSA,
    FMEA’s, SPC , process and product control plans & Process flow charts and diagrams.
    • Conduct internal audits as part of the internal audit team
    • Cumulate, provide and circulate reports pertinent to good working practise and upkeep of the company Quality
    management system. Chair Quality management system reviews in absence of Quality manager / when required.
    • Participation in customer third party audits, witness release product audits and correction of audit findings
    • Participate & lead Problem Solving activities / groups
    • Produce accurate and timely reports
    • To work at other sites as and when required.

    Requirements of the role
    • 5 years’ experience in an Automotive Environment
    • Working experience of Quality Management System – ISO9000 / TS16949 / ISO 14001
    • Previous experience of direct customer liaison
    • Ability to use quality measuring equipment such as CMM, Faro Arms etc…
    • Extensive experience and knowledge or problem solving tools and techniques
    • Excellent communication (written and spoken) skills
    • Excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint & ideally Project.
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Multitasking and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

    The successful candidate must have a Full UK Driving License be flexible and responsive in support of the business needs.

    The role will be based at our global head office at 480 Thurmaston Boulevard, Leicester, LE4 9LN and the hours of work
    will be Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00 hours with a daily 60-minute lunch break.

    Job Description
    The Mechanical Design & Project Engineer will be a key member of the Engineered Products Division,
    providing essential Engineering & Project support to new & existing customers.

    The Main Duties will be:

    • Taking control of projects from initial concept through to design to ensuring fulfillment of customer
    • Development of engineering solutions for customers
    • Providing engineering design reporting, varying from design calculations to FEA simulation
    • Working simultaneously across a variety of different projects
    • To produce detailed and accurate 2D & 3D drawings for customers
    • Keeping all documents up to date in accordance with the project
    • Accurately issue documents to both internal and external customers
    • Follow up customer enquiries in a professional and timely manner
    • Work closely with the Estimating & Planning function and Manufacturing Operations team
    • Domestic and international travel to customer sites and suppliers as and when required
    expectations

    Requirements of the role
    • Degree or qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
    • At least 2 years of working in a Mechanical Engineering based environment
    • Experience in the use of 2D drawing packages, preferably AutoCAD
    • Experience in the use of 3D modeling packages, preferably Solidworks
    • Competency in using Microsoft Projects
    • Excellent communication, negotiating and presentation skills
    • Excellent PC skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
    • Working knowledge of a Quality Management System – ISO or TS

    Reporting to: Engineering & Technical Manager

    Location: The role will be based at our global head office in Leicester, however travel may be required both
    domestically and internationally.

    Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 5:00pm with a daily 60-minute lunch break.

    Job Description

    The Marketing Officer supports the Group Marketing Manager in overseeing the company’s marketing campaigns both internally and externally and plays a key part in communicating the organisations products, services and messages to target audiences.

    Duties of the Marketing Officer include:

    • Copywriting for multiple marketing activities including web, email and print
    • Planning and project management of marketing events and campaigns
    • Building, sending and reporting of email marketing
    • Contributing to the annual group marketing plan
    • Performing market research and competitor analysis
    • CRM and database management
    • Supporting the marketing manager in day to day marketing activities
    • Developing and implementing an internal marketing programme
    • Produce timely and accurate reports as and when required

    Requirements of the role

    • Previous experience in a similar marketing role or a recent graduate
    • Ideally a degree or qualification in marketing
    • Working knowledge of online marketing including SEO and PPC
    • Strong and confident communicator
    • Excellent copywriting skills and experience
    • Working knowledge of social media and new marketing trends
    • Excellent all round PC / IT skills including Microsoft Office, CRM and email marketing

    Brief overview of job role:

    As a CNC Programmer you will be a pivotal member of the Manufacturing Team, utilizing your knowledge of 4 & 5 axis CNC Machining skills to optimize programs and machine efficiency

    Main duties include:

    • Produce accurate, high quality components with maximum efficiency
    • Undertake any off-set changes to the programme to ensure the components are produced to the customer drawings/requirements.
    • Complete first off inspection
    • Working from technical drawings
    • Support, develop and mentor other colleagues & departments on technical machining issues

    Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    • Ability to program and set CNC Turning and Milling Machines
    • Fanuc & Heidenhain Controls
    • Applicants will need to be proactive, able to work on their own initiative and assist other semi-skilled members of the team to reach their maximum potential

    The Package:

    • A competitive salary dependant on skill and experience (OTE £30K to £40K – including overtime)

    Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 14:00 & 14:00 to 22:00, rotating weekly with a daily break (Double Day Shift)

    Sunday to Thursday, 22:00 to 06:00 with a daily break (Night Shift)

    The role will be based at our manufacturing facilities in Leicester.
