Hours |  08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break

The Company:

Job role:
Reporting directly to the Engineered Products Health and Safety Manager the HS&E Trainee will proactively support the whole of Nylacast Health and Safety Team across all Nylacast Holding Group Companies. The role will be very “hands on” and the ideal candidate must have a passion to grow in the Health & Safety arena.
The successful candidate will be given a formal structured 3-year training plan.

Main duties include, however not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of H&S improvements.
  • Complete Audits, inspections and monitoring and accurately record data
  • Attend meetings, accurately take minutes and complete actions
  • Support and assist with data entry, reporting and analysis of H&S data and information.
  • Support in the effective delivery of Training and Inductions
  • Research, review and update H&S documents in accordance with legislation and best practice.
  • Provide support in the completion of audits (internal and external).
  • Support and assist with the investigations of accidents and incidents.
  • Provide support in the implementation of Risk Assessments.
  • Prepare and maintain H&S records.
  • General Administrative Duties
  • Undertake additional duties as business needs dictate

Main Skills:

  • The desire & passion to forge a career in Health and Safety.
  • This is very much a “hands on” role
  • Interest in implementing and maintaining Health and Safety standards and procedures
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Clear and confident communication and literacy skills
  • Must be prepared to travel across different sites within Leicester area

Training Programme:
3 years training program undertaking Health & Safety accredited qualifications:

  • Risk assessment training
  • Fire warden training
  • 2-day managing safety
  • IOSHH Training
  • NEBOSH General certificate
  • Internal training and development programmes
  • Other training as business requirements

Experience & Requirements: 

  • A keen interest in Health and Safety within the workplace
  • Commit to Health and Safety Training – ISOH, NEBOSH etc.
  • Must be prepared to travel across different sites within Leicester area
  • GCSE Maths, English & Science Grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Reports to | Maintenance Manager

Location | Nylacast Automotive, Leicester, LE4 9LN

Hours | Working a Night Shift, 10 pm to 6 am, Sunday to Thursday, with a 30-minute daily lunch break – Please note must be able to work for at least a month on a Double Day Shift for training and familiarisation.

Job role:
The Maintenance Engineer will aid the overall effectiveness & efficiency of the division by reducing downtime on machines whilst continuously striving to improve processes to plant & machinery and furthermore to provide a support service to the production and to the Division in relation to maintenance issues to ensure machinery has maximum uptime possible.

Main duties include, however not limited to:

  • Responsible for Reactive / Breakdown Maintenance
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
  • Support in the improvement of processes and machinery
  • Comply with Nylacast Ltd H&S policy and all statutory Safety, Health and Environment requirements and ·ensure that all H&S procedures, engineering best practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure accurate & timely records are entered / recorded of all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares / consumables used.
  • Ensure engineering downtime is accurately logged, monitor repair times, and find new methods / procedures to reduce these.
  • Provide engineering support to production to ensure efficient performance of all equipment.

Experience & requirements:

  • Must be a time served engineer (Mechanical or Electrical), multiply-skilled is preferred
  • Recognised engineering qualifications (essential)
  • Previous maintenance experience – manufacturing environment preferable (essential)
  • Competent electrical / electronic fault finding and analysis skills (essential)
  • Self-managing – Must be able to work under own supervision or as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills

Location | The role will be based across our Leicester sites

Job role:
To develop effective cost estimates for parts, sub-assemblies and finished devices and accurately prepare and send out requests for quotation for external material & process in a timely manner, whilst adhering to the cost estimation procedure.

Main duties include, however not limited to:

  • Accurately prepare cost estimates of machined components & assemblies
  • Review tooling requirements and obtain quotations where necessary
  • Obtain quotations for external materials and processes
  • Produce accurate BOM’s & routes for new components
  • Review and update BoM’s & routes for existing components.
  • Support the ongoing requirements of the Sales & Manufacturing Departments
  • Maintain accurate information/records

Experience & requirements:

  • Be a time served Engineer
  • Have worked in a similar role for at least 3 years.
  • Have experience of either CNC Milling or Turning, although ideally the successful applicant will be dual biased.
  • Have experience of Engineering Plastics (Cutting & Casting Processes)
  • Familiarity with Engineering drawing conventions and tolerances
  • Have excellent PC & Numeracy skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Be an excellent communicator and adopts a flexible approach to work

Job role:
The successful applicants will effectively and efficiently operate machine tools, ensuring the company’s product lines conform to quality standards and in accordance with the specified Engineering Drawing, whilst maintain daily production targets.

Main duties include, however not limited to:

  • Operate & Set Machine Tools
  • Check & examine products
  • Correctly and accurately use handheld measuring equipment
  • Identify quality issues
  • Hit daily production targets
  • Keep Machine/work station tidy and free from slips, trips and falls
  • To act professionally in accordance with the company policies and procedures

Experience & requirements:

  • Be reliable and hardworking
  • Be Familiar with CNC Machine Tools and Measuring Equipment
  • Be able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Full training will be given

Reports to | Production Manager

The role:
As a CNC Programmer, you will be a pivotal member of the Manufacturing Team, utilizing your knowledge of 4 & 5 axis CNC Machining skills to optimize programs and machine efficiency

Main duties include:

  • Produce accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency
  • Undertake any off-set changes to the programme to ensure the components are produced to the customer drawings/requirements.
  • Complete first off inspection
  • Working from technical drawings
  • Support, develop and mentor other colleagues & departments on technical machining issues

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to program and set CNC Turning and Milling Machines
  • Fanuc & Heidenhain Controls
  • Applicants will need to be proactive, able to work on their own initiative and assist other semi-skilled members of the team to reach their maximum potential
  • Excellent communication skills

The Package:

  • A competitive salary dependant on skill and experience (OTE £30K to £40K – including overtime)
