Here at Nylacast, our purpose is to solve complex engineering problems for a safer, greener and a more sustainable world by partnering with influencers of change in a diverse range of industries.

We have been applying this ethos, which has be embedded in the company's culture, for over five decades.

Our business is focused on three core values "People, Polymers and Passion". With our People, we educate and empower. With our Polymers, we strive to enhance, create, and pioneer applications whilst bringing through our Passion for innovation and change.

Nylacast is considered the partner of choice for many industry leaders due to our commitment to constantly striving to deliver exceptional products. We are a team of over 600 dedicated professionals employed across four continents, which enables us to supply manufactured goods to more than 47 countries.

  • 31 secondary school students have successfully completed Nylacast’s Introneering summer program to deliver an insight into engineering careers.

In The Community
  • Working with Leicestershire Cares to support 8,500 children and young people in schools, 359 job seekers and 50 community groups per year.
  • Over 900 hours per annum spent by team members on community improvement projects and charitable causes.
  • Proud sponsors of many school and local football, rugby, swimming and racing teams including formula student.
  • More than 7 local charities supported by Nylacast to develop communities and address topics including mental health, poverty, disabilities and health.
History

1967- Nylacast established in Leicester, United Kingdom.

1974- Nylacast Oilon was introduced to the market, the very first authentic lubricated Nylon.

1989- Nylube was introduced into the Nylacast product range, offering outstanding performance as a bearing material.

1997- With strong trading performances in our European and North American sectors, strategically the demand for high-performance products and continual growth of the Nylacast Brand Image led to the incorporation of Nylacast in South Africa.

2000- Nylacast Automotive Division established.

2001- In 2001 the arrival of Nylacast in Lebanon, Pennsylvania underscored our determination to develop our business internationally and to continue to deliver innovative engineering solutions for clients in North America.

2007- Nylacast developed our main manufacturing site based in Thurmaston, Leicester, a short drive from the company’s main headquarters.

2010- With the success of Nylacast LLC and due to increased customer demand, Nylacast Offshore was opened in 2010. We have continued our international growth and development strategy with our new Offshore support office in Houston, Texas.

2011- The official Nylacast Apprenticeship Programme was launched to help bridge the engineering skills shortage faced by industry.

2014- Building upon the success of the apprenticeship scheme, Nylacast invested in the development and launch of the Nylacast Engineering Training Academy, a dedicated area to deliver numerous training & development programmes for all members of the workforce.

2015- With a continued focus of the development of people, the very first Nylacast Graduate Scheme launched, accommodating 4 graduates in total

2017- Nylacast invest in new state of the art World Headquarters side by side with Nylacast’s flagship Automotive plant.

2020 – In February 2020, Nylacast Acquired Viva Nylons, followed by the acquisition of Supergrip Ltd. later in the year in August.

2020 – Nylacast South Africa relocation to new premises in Jet Park, in December 2020.

2022- Plant and Machinery acquired for Pipeline Engineering applications.

2023 – Supergrip business unit relocated to a new premises in Faverdale, Darlington.

2023 – November 2023, Nylacast Engineered Products awarded the esteemed Silver Award from EcoVadis, positioning among the top 15% of companies for sustainability.
