Written by Nylacast Group | 23 October 2026

Celebrating UK manufacturing and strengthening industry connections

Nylacast recently attended the Made in the Midlands Expo in Walsall, joining manufacturers, industry leaders and supply chain professionals from across the region for a day focused on collaboration, innovation and the future of UK manufacturing.

Representing Nylacast at the event were Engineering Manager Daniel Wilson, Purchasing Manager Julie Beall and Buyer, Caroline Moxley, who welcomed visitors to the stand and discussed how 60 years of engineered polymer innovation, technical consultancy and manufacturing expertise continue to support customers overcome complex engineering challenges across a diverse range of industries and global landscapes.

As a proud member of Made in the Midlands for more than a decade, Nylacast values opportunities to engage directly with fellow manufacturers, exchange knowledge and contribute to conversations that support the long-term growth and competitiveness of the industry.

A common theme throughout the event was the resilience and adaptability of British manufacturing. While the sector continues to demonstrate remarkable innovation, discussions also highlighted several challenges facing businesses today. Lord Whitby spent time on the exhibition floor speaking directly with exhibitors and members, listening to first hand accounts of the issues affecting organisations across the region. Conversations highlighted ongoing skills shortages that are impacting production capabilities, alongside increasing operational and energy costs.

These discussions reinforce the importance of investing in people and strong industry partnerships to help manufacturers remain competitive in an increasingly challenging environment.

The Expo provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, establish new connections and contribute to meaningful conversations about the future of UK manufacturing. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to visit our stand and look forward to continuing these discussions in the months ahead.
