Meet our new Apprentices

Over the past month, we’ve been delighted to welcome a new group of apprentices to the Nylacast team. As they begin their careers with us, they are already gaining valuable experience by developing new skills and becoming an important part of their departments.

At Nylacast, apprenticeships provide an excellent opportunity to learn on the job and work alongside experienced colleagues as well as gain practical knowledge in a manufacturing environment. Since joining, our newest apprentices have spent their first few weeks getting to know the business, completing training and beginning to support their teams across various areas of the company.

One month in

The first stage of the apprentices' journey focused on developing the core skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in engineering and manufacturing. During their first few weeks, they completed drawing and quality training, learning how to interpret engineering drawings, use measuring equipment and understand key quality processes

They then had the opportunity to put their learning into practice through hands-on workshop activities, gaining experience in machine operation, inspection standards and manufacturing processes. Through a combination of practical projects and guided training, the apprentices have begun building the technical skills that will support them throughout their apprenticeship.

Following their initial training, the apprentices have now moved into placements across different areas of the business. These placements are giving them valuable exposure to a range of departments, allowing them to learn from experienced colleagues, gain insight into different roles and develop a broader understanding of Nylacast's operations.

Looking ahead

It's been fantastic to see how much progress our apprentices have made in such a short time. Their enthusiasm, willingness to learn and commitment to developing new skills has already made a positive impression across the business.

We look forward to following their journey as they continue their training, gain further experience and build successful careers at Nylacast. We wish them every success as they progress through their apprenticeships and become the next generation of talent within our business.
