Nylacast close for winter shutdown with team BBQ
As the winter cold welcomes the festive season, Nylacast heated things up with a company BBQ for its employees at its Leicester facility, also the headquarters of its international operations.
To close of the year and thank its employees, management at Nylacast replaced turkey with BBQ Chicken and Biryani as a festive Friday treat going into the facilities annual shutdown.
Employing over 400 members of staff, the event was an opportunity for colleagues across the business to meet, socialise and eat together. Ian Mallabone, Group HR & Training Manager commented, “As a company we value people as our most important asset. Each year we hold a number of unique events for our team members and local community such as charity fund raising events, celebrations of graduations, retirements and milestone years of service, family fun days and more. They work really well to bond the many departments within the company. Now we can add Winter BBQ to the list too!”
The event also celebrated the Apprentice of the Year Award, a long standing tradition to reward and highlight the efforts of the apprentices enrolled on training courses across the business through its Engineering Training Academy. This year saw the award being given to Tre Francis. Tre is currently a 3rd year Engineering apprentice. On receiving the award Tre gracefully thanked his fellow apprentices, colleagues and mentors at Nylacast as well as looking forward to continuing his training and progression at the company.
The Winter BBQ also hosted a company raffle with over £350 being raised for charity Dementia UK which provide Admiral Nurses to patients and families who experience Dementia.
