Nylacast are pleased to have participated in a recent student speed networking event earlier this month.

Nylacast members recently went back to school to give a number of speed networking presentations to groups of school children studying at Rushy Mead School in Leicester, the city in which Nylacasts UK headquarters is based.

The event was hosted by the Young Chamber, with the aim of the event being to link students with local businesses in order to learn first hand from individuals actually doing the job. This provided a platform for students to investigate a range of career choices and learn what qualifications, skills and attributes were required for specific professions. The presentations by Nylacast were greatly received by the students, who were very enthusiastic to learn about business and gain as much as possible from the networking event. The students, parents and teachers showed a high level of interest in the wide range of Nylacast products, applications, services and roles within the company.

Ian Mallabone, Nylacast Group HR Manager commented,“a very important aspect for us at Nylacast is our commitment to local schools, colleges and universities. Working in partnership is vital in sharing our knowledge, ideas & experiences, equally important is the knowledge that we also gain from working together with these educational establishments. Being able to support the students and seeing them take a serious interest in their futures was fantastic. The Young Chamber event was professionally organized with a tremendous amount of thought, effort and hard work which had been put in by the Students at Rushy Mead. It was a pleasure to attend such an event & share our business knowledge and as such will definitely continue to work with the local academic community”
