Nylacast help share the warmth this winter

Leicester based engineering firm Nylacast recently donated over 100 winter coats to share the warmth this coming winter with homeless and under-privileged men, women and children.

As a supporting member of Leicestershire Cares, a local charity geared towards bringing together local communities and companies, Nylacast recently donated over 100 winter coats for the charity’s Coat Drive. Did you know the number of people sleeping rough in Leicester has more than doubled in the last year, with over 460 people also living in hostels.

The Leicestershire CoatDrive based on a concept established in New York City, helping to keep people warm during the cold winter months. With an initial pledge of 40-50 coats, Nylacast were overwhelmed with the support they gained for this worth cause, Group HR manager, Ian Mallabone commented, “It was great to see that after only a few days of kicking off the campaign, the single clothes rail we had put up in our offices for staff to leave donated coats on was overflowing and surrounded with high quality winter coats. This signifies the greatness of this local campaign which works as an excellent platform allowing local companies and people to help members of the local community first-hand.”

With numerous boxes of mens, womens and childrens coats, members of the Nylacast team took time last week to load their flatbed delivery van with the donations and drop them off to the local collection and sorting point. The donated coats will be split up between various local charities and outreach projects where they are needed the most. Nylacast would like to thank all that donated to the CoatDrive and encourage other local companies to join Leicestershire Cares and get on board with their great local projects and campaigns.
