Nylacast are proud to receive the Leicestershire Cares Golden Heart Award for the teams contribution to the development and delivery of Leicestershire Cares Employability Project over the last two years.
Ian Mallabone, Group HR & Training Manager, has been working with the Education Team at Leicestershire Cares and individuals from other local organisations for over 18 months, in order to develop a structured employability session to be delivered at Beaumont Leys School.
On Tuesday 6th November, Ian Mallabone and the Nyalcast Team, Stewart Smith, Milling Supervisor, Richard Evans, Milling Team Leader, Ben Diegnan, Lewis Noble, Abdur Limalia, Jack Nurse, Calvin Bayley and Dale Bartram (Ex-Beaumont Leys Pupil) completed the successful pilot project at the school. During the morning session over 100 Year 10 students participated in the problem solving activities in order to enhance their employability skills.
After the event the Nylacast Team stayed on to discuss the Engineering Apprenticeship program at Nylacast with some Year 11 students. Hopefully Nylacast will obtain some more excellent students from Beaumont Leys School for its Apprenticeship intake during July 2014. Ian Mallabone commented, “We are delighted to have been presented the highest possible award by Leicestershire Cares.
